What is Eye on Design?
An annual public event at Seattle Design Center full of design advice, swag bags and an opportunity to browse all the design showrooms, even the ones normally only open to the design trade!

Hello David,
I will be getting married again next year. My 1st husband passed away 7yrs. ago and I am in the process of starting a new life with a new soulmate. Iam very afraid to make to many changes to my soon to be new home in Selma Alabama. I love your show and am hoping you can help me and my hubby to be fix a living room/dinning room problem. These rooms have real wood on the walls and very high ceilings. I’m not sure what to do with either of them. What I would love is for you to design this space for us. Please tell me how people are able to get your services. I don’t mind having our house shown on your show. It would be an honor to have you come into our humble home.

Where can I find a list of your favorite stores/websites for furniture. I religiously watch your show and love the furniture choices that you make. Since the odds of you coming out to take care of my house is slim, I can at least cobble together some of your ideas and put it together myself. Thanks!

Hello David,
I was told in every room there should be something black and something red. Regardless of the color palette. Is this true? If so why? What does this do to the overall design?

Hi David OMG I’m like obsessed with your show, I love it!!! Here’s my question for you, I have this huge almost 5ft chimney that’s awkardly placed in a corner in my living room. I have no clue as to how to dress the mantle being that the chimney itself is enormous, please I’m in need of your good eye on design and experience. Thank you for your question for David. I have submitted it with my interview questions, as it was too late for the Seattle Design Center ticket questions submittal.
My net was down most of the week and my schedule made it hard to get to the internet cafes so I didn’t get a chance to officially close the questions until now.

I think you haven’t had this design challange before: I just bought a contemporary house which i love, it fits very well our life style. The only problem i have is decorating the family room. It is a pretty large space (25×15), first room you seer when you enter the house and the challange is… after we biught the house, we also got a puppy and she lives in our family room. She’s a large breed and has an x-large cage. My question is … how can i incorporate an x-large dog cage in a contemporary room, without being an eye-sore? I was thinking of a room divider, a curtain, or hide it behind a loveseat…. but i can not see it working. Any ideas? Thanks.
