Seattle Waterfront LoveNest: Before paint & art

November 16, 2009

This couple called me to design their LoveNest when their friendship blossomed into love and they decided it was time to share their home space.  They chose to start with a blank slate, bringing only a bed with them.

We are almost fully furnished now, minus a few final pieces and some art.  I brought in my SPACE:  A Design Build Collective members emily lauderback design & color consultation for color, and Elzinga Painting, for painting which commences today!

I’m sharing the pre-paint images so you can see how much difference changing the wall colors can make.  The new color will result in really warming up this space and tieing everything together into the warm and cozy LoveNest it’s meant to be!

Keep an eye open for the project end results, scheduled to wrap by the end of this month!

Colors can really make a difference to the way we feel about things. They can set the mood just right and influence us in many different ways that are too subtle to notice. You can also use environmentally friendly paints to paint up your interiors. We run a global sustainability directory called Climatarians where we endorse practices that promote a green way of life.

We love the Benjamin Moore eco-friendly paints though we noticed still a slight odor the last time we used Aura. Quality of paint is very good as well as coverage.

Mystic, as used by HGTV’s David Bromstad, is apparently odor free. A chemically sensitive gal I spoke with the other day has tried many brands and finds for her condition, Mystic is best.
